The internet is rapidly changing and evolving every day, and a lot of stuff gets deleted and removed in that constant shuffle.
One thing we have noticed is that information, articles, and statements made about reproductive health and gynecology are very often removed and changed so we created this archive for it all.
The internet is an ever changing and ever evolving landscape, and in that constant shifting and shuffling of content things tend to get lost- we've noticed this happening a lot with content about reproductive health.
Articles, blog posts, statements, and even official recommendations made by health organizations are often changed, replaced or removed entirely and it's rarely ever being done because we've learned new information. It's often done simply because somebody decided we shouldn't get to see that information anymore, or because it made someone look bad, or perhaps it's a statement that aged really poorly, or maybe it's just inconvenient information for us to have access to as patients.
No what the reason is, this archive exists so that information is always available.
Articles
Because this is an archive, it may include information that is outdated or disproven, as well as information that was never correct or evidence-based. It may also include some pretty weird takes that We Deserve Better disagrees with.
We will do our best to make sure all the information archived here includes notes to indicate whether or not it is an evidence-based current piece of information or a piece of information you should consider using to make personal health decisions.
We feel it's extremely important to document any instances of dishonesty, manipulation, gaslighting, and just weird insane opinions displayed by medical professionals and health organizations online.
We don't think that something like Barbara Levy stating that pelvic exams are a "bonding experience" and "time of intimacy" between patients and providers is something that should just be allowed to be deleted and forgotten, we don't think think a healthcare provider making a rape joke in a TikTok video should be brushed under the rug.
It is crucial for accountability that we don't allow these things to simply be removed from the Internet and forgotten about.
